Adekola Adedapo has been a fixture on the Milwaukee and Chicago jazz scenes since the early 80's. Her unique style of blending African traditional chants into jazz scat sets her apart from other mainstream jazz vocalists. She is a professional storyteller with a national reputation and has performed all over the United States. She recently retired from a 20 year term with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Arts in Community Education (ACE) which involved performing with a jazz trio in twenty schools a year for the first grades. It also gave her the opportunity to sing annually with the MSO in their spring program for all the ACE schools.
Currently Adekola is the Multicultural Program Coordinator for Alverno College. She has played at Caroline's, the Jazz Estate, The Packing House, Transfer Pizzeria, and the Blu.
